Kali F1 Safari
3 mos ~ 4 mos

Kali ~ F1 Safari Female ~ 3 Months

Kali arrived here at 11 weeks and is just perfect in every way. From her adorable pewter eyes rimmed in white and her exotic sweet face, to her big, gorgeous, charcoal spots on her silky, silver fur to her super thick tail, she is just so stunning. Since the moment she came out of the carrier, she has been a purring, blur of motion. She is just the sweetest thing with the most angelic face and a wonderful disposition to match.

After having our array of hybrid cats (Savannah, Habari & Chausie), I thought that I had heard the extent of strange cat sounds, but Kali amazed me with her peculiar chirps, chatters and calls – very exotic and wild sounding and very different from the others…

She is our resident little pig and is eating very well and has also adjusted to her new home very well. She has faithfully used the litter boxes and has made some wonderful new feline friends. She was kept in isolation for a week and Zoom, our Habari, was camped outside her door for the entire week, patiently waiting to see his new girlfriend. He just adores her and they have become inseparable. That is, when she’s not pouncing on Zende’s tail (our 20+ pound F-3 Chausie), and he is so sweet with her, as she’s chewing and jumping on it, he just lays there and lets her. We’re hopeful that with all her energy and playfulness, she may help him loose a little weight too. She has definitely won these two over.

Zuri, our F-1 SV, is not so sure what to make of this little thing that keeps running up to him to play without any fear at all - she just keeps on coming. Her name, which means energetic in Swahili, definitely fits her! Cinnamon, our Siamese and the only other female cat, has also adjusted well to her arrival. I was worried that she wouldn’t want to give up her “Queen” status, but she’s really been very sweet to Kali.

She’s growing very fast too, when she arrived at 11 weeks, she weighed 2.9 lbs and a little over a week later she’s at 3.7 pounds, so she’s our resident porker… She’s also the fastest cat we have… we have never had a problem with any of our cats trying to sneak out the door, but Kali escaped into our garage twice on her first day out of isolation. I really thought that I had seen fast cats with our group, but she is like lightning and she’s just a kitten. I can only imagine how quick she will be when she’s older… WOW!

Thank you again, Holly & Dale for blessing our family with another precious kitten. Each and every cat that we have gotten from you (this is the 4th – F-1 Savannah, Habari, F-3 Chausie and now this perfect Safari) has been exceptional. We love them all so much and appreciate the time and effort that you put into breeding these marvelous creatures!

Kali ~ F1 Safari Female ~ 4 Months

Kali is just the sweetest little monkey kitten ever… She is constantly hanging upside down from the cat towers and swings herself up and around like a little spider monkey. She is full of energy and love and we just cherish her. She is a lap kitten for about half of the time and non-stop energy for the rest. She loves to chase the other cats and pounces on them and chews their ears and they just put up with her and are really very patient with her. She used her claws in play (which none of the other cats ever do) for about the first week and our entire family got a little scratched up, but the cats must have taught her that that wasn’t appropriate, because now she never does. (thank goodness – I was getting some strange looks from people with my scratched up hands).

She really is just full of fun and play and love. As I type this she is wrestling with Zoom, our Habari, and he’s very gentle with her. Usually by the end they’ve changed to a big grooming fest and they end up falling asleep together. Kali has charmed everyone here, both 2-legged and 4-legged and we all love her. She loves to play with our F-1 Savannah, Zuri and they will run around the house and up and down the stairs until Zuri has to stop to rest, but Kali just keeps going, she’s definitely a fireplug. She has bonded the most with Zoom & Zuri, but she plays with our Siamese once in a while and loves to attack our F-3 Chausie, Zende’s tail. I think she is definitely spoiled by all the cats and so far (fingers crossed) there have been no power struggles and everyone is really getting along great!

She is eating really well and is totally onto dry food except for a morning “treat” of her canned kitten food and now weighs 5 lbs. She does loves people food though and will do her best to sneak any when she’s able… She is also our resident laundry thief. She absolutely loves socks, shirts, towels, unmentionables, etc… and will “guard” her discovery for as long as she is able… If any of the other cats try to see what she’s stolen, one low growl from her and they decide that maybe they don’t really need to see what it is. It usually takes 2 people to get the “goods” away from her or a feather toy to distract her. She is very doglike in that way, we have never had any interest from the other cats in that area, but she loves it!

The kids love her and we love her and she was the perfect addition to our family, although I definitely think that 5 cats is our limit… so Holly and Dale, please quit tempting us with all of your beautiful cats… my family & friends are starting to refer to me as a “crazy cat lady”. TeeHee…
